Dr. Delisle is a seasoned mental health professional who has been in private practice since 1991. In addition to her years of experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, she is a recognized San Diego leader in divorce education and is a trusted expert in the field of cooperative, child-centered divorce.
Dr. Delisle created "Cooperative Parenting" (formerly named Parents' Turn) in 2000. "Cooperative Parenting” promotes cooperation and communication between parents. Since its inception, more than 5,500 parents have successfully completed the workshop. Cooperative Parenting is a program of prevention and intervention, giving parents information and skills that promote peaceful, cooperative relationships following separation or divorce. "Cooperative Parenting" has been endorsed by family law judges, Family Court Counselors, attorneys and local mental health professionals.
In 2008, Dr. Delisle launched a four week program for high conflict parents. "Parallel Parenting”, focuses on emotional disconnection and parental autonomy.
The Founder of Kids' Turn San Diego in 1996, Dr. Delisle received the 2001 Peacemaker of the Year Award from the National Conflict Resolution Center. In 2005, She was honored by Channel 10 news for its Leadership Award. She was also recognized by the San Diego County Bar Association for the “Distinguished Organization Award”. In 2008, Dr. Delisle transferred responsibility for Kids' Turn to new leadership.
In private practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1991, she has two offices (one in Encinitas and a second in San Diego) where she treats children and adults. Dr. Delisle offers private mediation (confidential and recommending). She also specializes in co-parenting counseling, helping parents create a successful child-sharing plan and co-parenting ground rules. Dr. Delisle is a trained High Conflict Case Manager (Parenting Coordinator) and is a certified provider in the New Ways for Families program.
In 2000, Dr. Delisle was instrumental in helping with the launch of The Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego (CFLGSD), an alternative to adversarial divorce that minimizes conflict and promotes cooperative decision-making between parents. Dr. Delisle was the 2005 President of CFLGSD.
Dr. Delisle earned her masters and doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California.
